Olivia’s has been a Hondo favorite for the blue-collar worker for many years. While the restaurant is small and not fancy with only half a dozen tables, they make up for the lack of space with their food. It is not a dress-up place, you will often find a group of construction guys having a meal at Olivia’s. Everything is homemade, fresh, and plentiful, on a beer budget. The working man’s favorite is Bob’s Specials with two enchiladas, taco, chalupa, beans and rice; one can really fill up for $7.39! Or try the lady’s version called the Sonia Special, with just the enchiladas, beans and rice. They also have burgers, fish, and chicken. Chicken fajita salads are only $3.99. And kids can eat for $2.50. If you are budget conscious and hungry, this is the place to go.
There is plenty of parking also. Olivia’s is on the Frontage Road off of Highway 90, not far from the intersection at 173. The physical address is 110 18th St. There is no take-out menus but if you call ahead they will be happy to have your order ready for you. The restaurant is a little dark, and small, but it’s a great place to take a hungry crowd. They will also allow you to rent the restaurant for a special occasion.
